Welcome newcomers! I notice weve have quite an influx of new group members. I also noticed, from a few recent comments on posts, that a few old points are being rehashed in a manner that is a) completely fine and totally to be expected, but also b) probably a little exhausting to older members who have lead discussion threads on these same points several times already. So, to help things along, my suggestion to those of you who are relatively new to this group and possibly also new to your interest in Substrate-Independent Minds, Whole Brain Emulation and Mind Uploading: 1. Go to carboncopies.org and read some of the background material or watch a few of the videos there. Alternatively, Google my name and and watch some recent video. The longer ones usually contain a fair synopsis of whole brain emulation. 2. Check out the carboncopies group comment threads that have been perma-linked from: carboncopies.org/facebook Those discussion links were preserved specifically, because they address issues that come up over and over again, and which were exhaustively detailed there. 3. Feel free to scroll down and peruse older posts and comment threads in this group. We keep a pretty strong signal to noise ratio here, so youll find most things are relevant and informative.
