Welcome to 2015. Youre late, Ive been waiting for you. Last night at my friends house, in the last moments of 2014, I deleted Facebook. Not all of Facebook mind you (although it did cross my mind). The worlds central website seems to be working well. I didnt even delete my account -- which should be fairly obvious unless youre not quite all back together again from the party. Rather, I deleted FaceBook from my iPhone (gasp). I did check and was rather surprised to find that not only was it not against facebooks user agreement, it was all perfectly legal -- at least in my state. Those in Illinois, NY, and California may want to retain a constitutional rights lawyer before embarking on such a radical course of action. Oh relax. Ill still check in from my desktop occasionally, but Im not going to be tethered to the beast any longer. A few score of minutes, once or twice a day, should be far more than adequate for my own ongoing sustenance. The rest of you will have to fend for yourself. I suggest you may find it exceedingly useful to spend the time saved reading my posts over at SNOPES. Youd be surprised at the things that are true -- they are even more fascinating that you might expect. I do have one large area of concern with the change. Im not quite certain what Im going to do in the bathroom going forward. For the past few years all of you have been my constant companions while I visit the porcelain house of easement. I guess I shall be exploring an entirely different realm of bathroom going. Brave new worlds and all that... So... no mobile Facebook along with an an effort to move away from news and events. What is going to be happening here on my gateway into the hearts of minds of the masses? Wouldnt we all like to know....
