Welcome to Evening Showers with Chika. Tonight’s story revolves around 3 siblings. 2 boys and a girl. They come from a broken home. Their father left them over years ago; their mum is still with them, together they live in a small house somewhere in the outskirts of town but she doesnt really have a strong hold on any of them. They fend for themselves and take care of themselves separately; by “separately” I mean each one of them pay for their bills without caring about what happens to the other. Sad right? This story was sent in by the first child who is 32 years. He says they live as strangers, no bond, no care, and no love. The younger brother smokes and sometimes steals while the sister lives a wayward life if you know what I mean. They fight and quarrel a lot not caring about their mother’s presence. Looking around him, he pondered about their future and realized their future would be bleak if they don’t change their ways of living. He said though he hasnt been of help towards his siblings in terms of setting a good example for he has had his own share of wrong doings and he takes full responsibility of all the wrongs in their lives but he believes change is possible. He has tired reaching out to them but they don’t respect him because he used to be one that cares less and sometimes hits them when they offend him and here he is asking them to change their character. They don’t even believe he has changed. According to him he has pleaded to them, explaining why they should change but no one seems interested. They seem to love their ways of living, their freedom but he desperately needs a change. He wants a better future for his family, if he doesnt take a stand, no one would. He seeks for ways to get them to stop their wrong doings and come together as a family for a better life. What would you advice him to do?
