Welcome to Mythbusters. This myth/rumor had the most likes, so we will answer it. Is prior military experience preferred by Legion recruiters? Answer: Yes, it preferred. However be aware it is NOT a pre-requisite! Its not so much the military skills that you bring, but its more to the point that you have clearly demonstrated that you are suited to a military lifestyle. Naturally if a recruit has demonstrated that they can adapt to a military life, the likelihood of them staying in the Legion is heightened. The Legion is filled with men who have served in other countries, but there are also people who havent. Do not allow this to be a hindrance to you when attempting to join with no military experience. Use an example from your civilian life to show that you can stick to long term commitments, and have the ability to be resilient during times of duress. Best of luck.
