Welcome to Rock Solid! More and more people in our country are wondering if there is really anything we can trust anymore, anything we can count on. Every part of our lives is affected by uncertainty. Economic upheaval has shaped our world for the last five years. Not just individuals, but something unheard of before, cities, states, and even entire countries are on the verge of bankruptcy. Our nation’s health is rapidly degenerating in spite of all our medical advances, and healthcare coverage is in a time of great flux. Families are disintegrating at an increasing pace and the damage of broken relationships affects far too many lives. Climate change affects global weather patterns, and huge, 100 year storms are happening in many places at an alarming rate. Here in the United States, we have a crisis in leadership at all levels of public service. Our government is deadlocked and seems unable to perform routine tasks like balancing our budget, handling immigration, or keeping us safe from criminals. People we have held in esteem, whether politicians or otherwise, have betrayed our trust, preyed on children, or committed violent crimes. We’ve become jaded and skeptical about trusting anyone or anything. The picture looks pretty dark and unstable. But there is hope. There is peace. There is something timeless and changeless that won’t betray you, disappoint you, lead you astray, or let you down. There is something rock solid you can live by. You may be a little skeptical about that, and that’s OK. You should be. After all, you’ve been burned too many times not to be careful. No matter where you are in your life, we’d like to invite you to investigate the weekly broadcasts of Rock Solid. You may be a Christian, or you may not be. You may be Jewish or Muslim or Hindu or atheist or not sure where you land. That’s OK. All comers are welcome here. Whatever the case, we’d like to invite you to give open-minded consideration to the things you hear on Rock Solid’s weekly programs. Why?
