This was a Dance Moms editing trick for a couple of reasons. 1) It was NOT the Joffrey School of Ballet, but the Mia Michaels Joffrey Summer Dance Intensive West. Maddie & Chloe were BOTH too young to audition for the Joffrey School of Ballet Summer Program. 2) Maddie won a full tuition scholarship, as well...The homepage for Reign Dance Productions (reigndanceproductions) noted at the time that Maddie Ziegler & Chloe Lukasiak were awarded Full Tuition Scholarships to the Joffrey/ Mia Michaels 2 week Intensive in Los Angeles.[2] A graphic makes clear that the reference is to the Joffrey Ballet School, which is a distinct organization that is not affiliated with the Joffrey Ballet.[3][4][5] Melissa also tweeted that Maddie found out the same time as Chloe,[6] again stating that the scholarship was for Joffrey Ballet School West in Los Angeles,[7][8] administered by Mia Michaels.(Dance Moms WIki, source) 3)The scene where Maddie is upset was actually footage where she got mad at Melissa earlier in the day. 4) Maddie getting upset, forgetting her solo and running offstage is said by Abby in her book, to have been a producer set-up, which is why she got so enraged. Think about it. When was the last time you saw Maddie forget a solo?
