Welcome to another Football Friday weekend with a Bass Bowl twist. Bass Bowl IV, the rivalry game between Clear Lake and Kelseyville high schools, takes place tonight at Don Owens Stadium in Lakeport. JV kickoff is 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity game between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Since the Bass Bowl series began in 2010, Clear Lake has won two of the three previous meetings, including each of the last two. A Civil War-era cannon will fire after a score by either team. Kelseyville will be looking for its first league win while Clear Lake will be looking to stay in the NCL I race. In other games tonight involving Lake County teams, Middletown (4-0, 6-1) hits the road to play Cloverdale at Daly Field. The Mustangs are the only undefeated team remaining in the NCL I standings. In Lower Lake, the Trojans (0-4, 2-5) host the winless Willits Wolverines (0-4, 0-7). The Record-Bee will have a full wrapup of the three games later tonight.
