Welcome to another day of grace. Today, grace will be made available for you to face that challenge and overcome that barrier. In all the years I have been teaching on leadership, I have come to realize that the most effective way to lead is by being a servant-leader. What do I mean by that? As a leader you must be the first on the line and the last on the line. You must be the "first in" and the "last out." This does not imply that you should do everything by yourself because you also need to be able to delegate. Being the 'first in' allows you to set a standard for others to follow and being the last out shows that you are ready to take responsibility even after everybody else leaves. It shows that you are ready to serve as a leader. You cannot become a leader if you have not gone through the process of serving. Serving equips you for leadership; it is a stepping stone to leadership. If you aspire to become a leader but currently in a position of service you have a better advantage over those who are in a leadership position but have not passed through the channel of serving. True leadership is not about imposing your way on others, it is about being able to serve others with your gifts and ability. To become a leader, you must cultivate the ability to lead and serve at the same time.
