Welcome to our Sunday live update with Evangelist Uppsala Mabhena from ZAOGA F.I.F Message Title: Dealing with the Demon of Poverty/Lack Scripture: Deuteronomy 28 verse 2 The demon of poverty is the most silent and stubborn demon in the life of a Christian. If you are given a prophecy but without an instruction, then that prophecy may just be meaningless. Proverbs 10:22- What I want you to know is that for your life to be a better life, you need the blessing of God. Psalms 127:2- What makes you rich is not working very hard but the blessing of the Lord. According to Deuteronomy 28:2, when you are overtaken by a blessing all it means is that opportunities will overtake you and wait for you ahead. It is only the Lord’s blessing that will cause wealth to be attached to you. What also causes a man to be blessed is the kind of man he is following, Genesis 13:5, Lot was blessed with flocks, herds and tents because he was moving about with Abraham. Deuteronomy 28:15, but something more interesting is that if you also don’t follow God’s instructions, curses will overtake you and if that happens, regrets will wait for you ahead. This is where you see someone being sent a letter of regret before he even attends an interview and one being rejected by his/her in-laws before being formally introduced. 1 kings 17:8, God’s concept is that you give first before you receive. Even when faced with imminent death from starvation, the widow of Zarephath gave and she was blessed beyond measure. When you give you should give out of a willing heart and out of your abilities not by copying others. Malachi 1: 7-8, when you give to God, give the best out of what you have. Luke 5: 1-4, when you do the works of the Lord or when you allow your assets to be used in the house of the Lord, that does not go in vain but according to Luke 5:5 God rewards his people. No one told Jesus that they had toiled all night and caught no fish, but because Jesus knew that as l was using Simon’s boat to minister, I was doing the work of my father but this man has a family to feed and this is his means of living and he repaid him with a great catch of fish. Malachi 3:1-10, we don’t give tithes but we pay tithes, we are mandated to pay tithes. So know this, what causes you to be blessed is not the tithe but the offering. A tithe opens the floodgates of heaven for you but what determines what comes out of the windows is your offering. An offering shows your level of maturity in terms of how you understand the works of money and how you want money in your life. Jeremiah 17: 11, but even though you mature to know that you need money, make your money through clean and just ways. 2 Corinthians 8:1-5, when you commit yourself to the works of the Lord, you must do so with all your heart meaning that you must give yourself to the church. And where a man’s heart is that’s where his treasure is also. Where you give your money its a show that that is where your heart is also. If you love yourself you also commit yourself with you heart. When you partner with the man of God, God will give you that which lacks in your life as that which happened to the Shunamite woman. Do not deceive God for he looks at your heart. Malachi 1 vs 14. What you vow to God, should be given as you have vowed. Do not give God that which is of no value to you. You reap what you sow 2 corinthians 9 vs 6. It is the measure of your sowing that determines the size of your harvest. God will never forget what you have given to Him and his house. Heb 6:10. Its the truth that will set you free. But you need to know that its the truth that you know that sets you free, not just truth. For further study: 2 Corinthians 9:6, 2 Timothy 4:11, Ephesians 4:11, Philippians 4:15-19. May the God of Apostle Try and Eve Immanuel bless you.
