Welcome to our Thursday Night Feature Game which tonight we witness arguably the best two teams here at Goals Southampton and after a couple of seasons out, Hollywood have decided to return and challenge for the Premiership once again. Lets see at the teams look like: SPB - Jez Mikey Matt Nathan - GK Sticks Hollywood - Tom - GK Jack Ash Paul T aka Carlton Cole Lloyd Other Paul The first period of the game is an extremely tight affair with both teams afraid to make the first mistake. However soon Hollywood started to get into the swing of things and Nathan in the SPB goal was on tip top form, he made save after save, shouting at his defence to tighten up! As Hollywood pushed for the first goal , Jeremy was able to catch them on the counter attack and put SPB one up. Only moments later Matty doubles SPBs lead as he rockets the ball into the top corner leaving Tom motionless in goal. This early lead triggers Hollywood into action as everyone stops for a foul on Jack Taylor, Frank the ref plays a brilliant advantage which enables Paul T to smash home past Nathan to make it 2-1. Seconds later Hollywood equalise through Paul again as he scores a direct free kick which levels the match. Then only moments before Frank blows for the half time whistle, Lloyd makes a blistering run forward which Sticks just cant keep up with and a perfectly weighted ball falls straight into Lloyds path which lets him hit it first time and into the bottom corner. Half time Hollywood 3 - 2 SPB The second half gets under way and Sticks instantly levels the match from close range, it looks like Jez and Mikey have given SPB the hair dryer treatment at half time and they come out looking like a different side! However Hollywood put themselves in front once again as Paul scores a rebound which is quickly cancelled out by Mikey as he scores directly from kick off. This world class goal seems to shock Hollywood and SPB go on the attack, Sticks produces an absolutely amazing triple save from Tom which was worthy of the highlight reel, same it was down the wrong end so I was unable to catch, however do check out Toms save of the night! However moments after Sticks does beat Tom as he picks up the scraps around the penalty area. This is time where the game is own or lost both sides really start going for the win and its Captain Jez who steps up to the plate with a cracker to put SPB 6-4 ahead. With Jez leading the line, SPB up their game and in the final 5 minutes they kill the game off with 3 more goals coming from Sticks and 2 from Jez. So the game finishes 9-4 to SPB, the lads in White were probably the deserved winners of tonights contest but I think Hollywood will be able to get their revenge if they play properly next time, plus if Hollywood have Ash back form injury that will strengthen their team even further. However nothing is to be taken away from SPB who played well and stopped Hollywood from playing their brand of football by closing down early and pressuring the ball.
