Welcome to our third Interview with a Small Business with Alex Fores from Market to Market What is the name and website/Facebook address of your business/market? Market To Market facebook/southernmarket2market 1. How long has your business/market been running? (maybe a bit of history here?) Market To Market began on the 29th of March 2014 in our outdoors location in Ramsay Place at Noarlunga Centre. Our grand opening was amazing dragging in over 1000 attendees. During the winter break from our out doors location we operate the Gigantic Twilight Market To Market at Morphett Vale Basket Ball Stadium with over, dont let the word winter fool you though we had a massive 8000 people attend our first ever Gigantic Twilight Market and we are so excited that we can not wait for the next one at our indoors location. We return to Ramsay place on the 18th of October 2014 and operate there for the next seven months every third Saturday of the month. 2. What was the motivation behind not only starting a business/market and then expanding it? Initially we just wanted a great location for a market, so we made some inquiries into the land only to find out about the programme Activate Ramsay Place. Now If you had been to Ramsay Place in the previous two years you would may say Ramsay place was a troubled place. It was only that the Activate Ramsay Place team were looking for someone to run a market hear, and it came down to we were the right people at the right time inquiring, thus leading us to our wonderful location. The pleasure we get out of knowing we have aided in Activate Ramsay Place to make Ramsay Place a kind and welcoming area is more than what the business is worth and providing our stall holders a great location to sell their products is even better. 3. Did you start as a hobby, then expand it? We went strait into the business and havent looked back since. 4. What is it about your business/market that you think makes it stand out from the crowd? For Market To Market I believe it is our regular stallies and our great location. Customers come back for the regulars, they know their products and they know what they want to buy from them. With our location we are blessed in that sense we have an amazing location that has a high energy of community spirit and many community event take place in Ramsay Place. 5. What are one of the things that you absolutely love about your business/market? For me its the day. There is no better feeling than when a customer of the event comes up and sais I have really enjoyed today or hearing I cant believe I found this awesome product from a stall holder. The market vibe gives me a buzz that I just can not describe, you can only experience the vibe by attending. 6. What is the best way for people to contact you to make purchases/apply for your market? Market To Market is in the process of a website which should be available in the next month . We do take applications via email [email protected] 7. Where do you seem to sell/get stall-holders most? Markets/web-site/Facebook? Generally most inquiries come from Facebook and then second would be phone and email inquiries. 8. Do you do custom orders? party plan etc? We offer custom stall sites, and aim to please the stall holder as best as we can with offering the options of standard, double, marquee or double marquee sites.
