Welcome to the June 13th edition of What Do My Taxes Pay For?, in which we share examples of important things that were able to get for ourselves by pooling our resources. This week, the answer to this important question is *geologic hazard mapping*. Washington States geologic hazard maps include maps that show general slope stability and landslide hazards, earthquake and liquefaction hazards, and tsunami hazards, as well as some waste disposal planning maps. Map scales vary from 1:24,000 to statewide. See the maps here:
