Welcome to the art web site for Park terrace. I am so excited to share with you the wonderful artwork your kids will create this year in the art room. It has been a fun few weeks getting to know the children here and learning my way through our building. In the month of September Fifth graders are working on self portraits, first very abstract, then all realistic. Fourth graders are learning to draw animals, starting with the face. Third graders are practicing a pastel method of drawing birds, and will later move on to drawing the proportions of a human face. Second graders are going to be studying landscapes. First graders are learning about geometric shapes, tracing and drawing them, and Kindergarteners studied the color wheel, and now will be learning how to use color etching to create shapes like the leaf. Photos of these projects will soon be added.
