I created this page back in 2009 for the purpose of helping new collectors which ended up turning into a great online community of helpful and friendly collectors all around the world! ***RULES*** #1 Please be respectful to each other. Theres really never any problems on this page with someone being rude or mean but its still the #1 rule. #2 Please try not to post more than 3-4 photos at once. If theres a way to put all the photos in one frame that would be much better than spamming the wall. #3 Ask politely for an address. I cant stand when someone says Address? Addy? Its rude. Nobody is required to give you an address but most people will so just be respectful. Be aware some people like myself dont tend to post film set addresses or home addresses as it can be spammed very quickly as its on facebook, it can get around quick. A celebrity once emailed me angrily for posting his address on here so i just stopped posting home addresses all together. ***WEBSITES TO USE*** Fanmail.biz is the best FREE website to use. If you search a name of a celebrity and click on their profile it shows the latest feedback, what exactly they received back, and how long it took. If theres no successes listed for that celebrity ask me and ill check on startiger (a very good paid site) to see if it had any feedbacks or not. Please check this site before asking for an address on here. Startiger is really the only site i use.. The site is very organized and detailed when it comes to seeing feedbacks from other collectors. Each address posted shows how many people tried it and how long they been waiting. I can go on and on how well the site is but it does cost money. Startiger is good for anyone who sends out a lot of requests. ***HOW TO SEND AN AUTOGRAPH REQUEST/WHAT TO SEND** All you have to do is send a letter, whether its typed or hand written and send a self address stamped envelope for each mailing request. The letter should be a about a page long and stating why you are a fan and make it genuine then respectfully request an autograph. If youre international i usually send a few dollars to cover the postage but always send a SASE! Do not send to random people just because you want mail. Thats the worse thing you could do in my opinion. Spamming causes celebrities to stop signing along with people requesting autographs just to sell it. Send requests to people you are a fan of. ****WATCH OUT FOR FAKE AUTOGRAPHS**** Sadly some celebrities resort to sending out fake autographs when replying to fans. Some celebrities sends out autopens, pre prints stamped and secretarial signatures. PRE PRINTS are copies of the celebrities actual signature. The celebrity signs the signature once and someone makes 1,000s of copies and sends them out to fans. Studio fan mail is an agency that sends out pre printed signatures to fans. AUTOPEN is a machine that holds the pen and automatically signs the signature. The Spanky Taylor agency is well known for sending autopens such as Johnny Depp, Charlize Theron, Gennifer Goodwin, Orlando Bloom, and Gerard Butler. A good clue if something is autopen if the signature matches exactly the same to someone elses. A lot of politicians uses an autopen as well. STAMPED signatures are pretty easy to tell. You can sometimes feel the rubber, the signature tends to not be clear, or some parts of the signature are missing. Danny Glover and Denzel Washington are known to use a stamp. SECRETARIAL signatures are the worse type of response you can receive. The celebrity assistant to forges their signature on your photo and sends it back to you. Theres no other way to explain it. All you have to do is compare that signature to an in-person signature but some are harder to tell than others. So do your research before sending!
