Welcome to the termination of another night, and a dawning of a new day! I Peter 2:9 says: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. I dont know if you have ever been called peculiar as a child of God by the world, but sometimes, thats how they perceive us as Christians. When the world calls someone peculiar, usually they mean it in the sense of out of the ordinary, strange, odd, unusual. However, the meaning of the word peculiar in the Greek for I Peter 2:9 is possession; specialty. Therefore, the next time someone calls you peculiar in the way of odd, strange, remind them that you are peculiar in the sense of Gods possession and are special to him, but you are also chosen, royal, and holy according to I Peter 2:9. What a great privilege and honor to be one of Gods specialties, and a possession of his, purchased by the precious blood of Jesus Christ! Therefore, let the praises come forth from his people, for he called us out of darkness into his marvelous - wonderful, remarkable - light!
