Welcome to todays itinerary for Mcphiki tours. After a meet and greet dinner at the Chermside Tavern where you can wheel and deal your way to getting a free dessert you will be transferred to your accommodation for the night - where you can partake in a selection of refreshments complimentary of ala goonbag. Awakening from your slumber to the dulcid tones of inner city traffic roaring past your window at some ridiculous time of the morning it is with sadness that one of our tourers - Kate Bell has to leave - hooroo kate you will be missed :( Breakfast is served at the groove train - an open air environment offering a refreshing modern Australian cuisine - a fitting way to say goodbye to oz if like Mutiara Perrin you are heading off to cancun! ! Refreshed and ready to conquer the world your first stop is in carina at the amazing pillow rehabilitation centre hosted by the beautiful Liz Patane and her family - here they carefully watch over abandoned pillows until they can be reunited with their families. A much needed and very appreciated program by all the families involved. From here we move on to the brisbane international airport - drive thru the arrival lounge and be sure to look out for anyone needing a lift home - we were lucky enough to find a Kahli Mcphee and an Izaak Oates recently returned from a 3 week european adventure complete with ebola like symptoms to share with us. These two weary travelers were quick to introduce themselves to our pillow guests. Heading north we venture to Albany creek to meet up with sir Bryan Robert Horn - an avid motorcycle connoisseur who lovingly parted with a small selection of bits that had been acquired by Geoff Mcphee and Errol Dobbs. Packed/jammed/squashed / stuffed into the car with love and care we continue our northern trek. Lunch is hosted by the yaya cafe in samford - an awesome selection of freshly squeezed juices , ham and cheese toasties and pork belly and rocket salads. From here it is Onwards and upwards - literally - as we traverse the twists and turns of Mt glorious heading to somerset dam where photo ops abound. Be enthralled as your very own wildlife warrior Denise Tanzer points out real live koala bears, camels and llamas-alpacas really but whatever! By this time some travelers will be enjoying 40 winks and missing the beautiful scenery that only Australia has to offer. From somerset to kilcoy then maleny until afternoon tea of fresh muffins and biscuits in Kenilworth. Our trekking takes a turn to the highway that leads to home - delivering a now well travelled young man complete with a movember growth to his family and loved ones and a much loved and missed daughter-sister and grand daughter to hers. A long day but well worth it.
