Well, 2014 is coming to an end. Several people have gotten me to reconsider some of my assumptions, and Im always trying to be open minded to ongoing debate, but Im stuck in my ways on the following topics... I still think infectious disease is a symptom of malnutrition/toxicity in humans, and a symptom of malnourished or toxic soil for plants. This has a telescopic effect with sick animals eating sick plants. I still think that weeds and pests are best controlled with the least expense through Neem oil and companion planting, and that the most possible crop yield per hectare is through polyculture/permaculture. I still think heirloom seed breeding and sharing can adapt seeds to local conditions and nutrient requirements significantly more efficiently than genetic engineering techniques. I see no reason for any farmer to use genetically engineered seeds except to grow a subsidized crop without any financial risk. I still think I can get absolutely every nutrient I need from plants, minerals, and bacteria, and that some indigenous traditions and some permaculture practices are the only ethical, sustainable, or health-neutral ways of consuming animal products whatsoever. I still think the popular scientific and historical claims made about vaccination are dangerous and questionable. I still think that clean air and drinking water, vector control, complete nutrition, and good hygiene are infinitely more important than anything else for improving our chances to survive under any condition. I still think that people relying on vaccination and antibiotics are at risk unless they are actively improving their immune systems. I still think placentophagy and breast feeding are essential to human immunity. I still think that Permaculture, Ayahuasca, Ayurveda, Iboga, Yoga, and Hemp are the solutions to more problems than any one of us knows exist. I still think people should move out of the suburbs to either farms or city centers and focus on preventing new construction while decentralizing the production of food, energy, clean water, oxygen, medicine, and make friends with people of different colors and creeds. Im not as sure as this on many of the other controversies. What am I missing?
