Well. Dearloves, I just got an unpleasant surprise from an unexpected source. Many of you are aware that this has been a slow summer in the bookstore. I cut costs left and right (no regular staff since July), and have been negotiating payment plans and slowing the rate of payment on some bills, and mostly keeping everybody reasonably happy. Unfortunately, one of my creditors (who seemed satisfied with the payment I made 2 weeks ago) has notified me that I will not be allowed further time to pay my balance. And of course I received this notice 2 hours AFTER I paid down another bill! Timing is everything. I need to raise $2500 this weekend, to pay on Monday the 15th. Its not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, and perfectly doable by the end of the month in usual circumstances. But the circumstances just became unusual. The way I pay my bills is by selling books. I have 23,000 books. The recent influx of cool trade-ins has brought in some awesome titles. And Im willing to dicker, within reason. So what you can do is TELL YOUR FRIENDS to come and buy books this weekend. 100 people spending $25 each kills this thing. (And I still need to open up some shelf space, seriously! So many books!) (Heck, 200 people spending $25 each takes care of weeks of expenses, and pays down other balances! 300 people spending $25 each means hiring a steady helper through the fall! So, you know, tell ALL your friends!)
