Well Divas Christmas is behind us and the new year is just around the corner. I hope each of you enjoyed precious time with your families. My children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 brother in laws came to my house Christmas Eve and we feasted on prime rib, twice baked potato casserole, vegetable salad, fresh rolls and banana pudding. It was sad for my brother in law because he had just lost his wife the last of September. Did I say we also received almost 11 inches of rain in the previous 24 hours? After it was dark the kids shot fire works. Christmas Day was spent with Diva Susan and her family and we had a ball. Then the fun began. I got on FB and saw where one of my granddaughters was so sick she thought she was dying. Then another one responded we can have a double funeral another responded make it a triple. Then I went by my sons home to wish a grandson happy birthday but no one was up at 10:00 AM, very unusual, so I just left the card and gift. Later he called and said all 4 of them were sick. So now 7 are down and Im getting worried. I knew it was not food borne, Im an environmentalist and I prepared everything fresh and kept it in the proper temp and time to prevent a food borne illness, so it had to be a virus. An hour later a call from my oldest grandson and hes down for the count and he is eventually hospitalized. I have an open ended prescription for Phengren so I sent Raburn to town to refill it just in case. I have an auto immune disorder and I can see a virus on TV and get it so I was going to be prepared. While he was gone the granddaughter that lives next door calls crying grandma Ive been vomiting for 24 hours do you have anything I can take? Arent grandmas grand, yes sweetheart give me 15 minutes. Friday night about 7:00 Raburn said I dont feel too good and off and running he went. Yep, now he had it, so I isolated him to the front bedroom and bathroom. I gave him some of the meds and finally he went to sleep about 4:00 AM. He ran a temp all day yesterday and felt bad. Guess who NEVER got sick ME???? Nope not once and I get everything. I have tried to figure out how it missed me when it hit about 16 other family members and I have come to the conclusion it is the EmergenC I started taking in October at the beginning of flu season. I do think it has helped build up my immunity . I also have not had continuing bouts of bronchitis and asthma this season. This is my only change, of course it may be that God just decided to reward me for being extra good this year. Oh forgot to say Diva Susan got hit with the bug too yesterday. HAPPY NEW YEAR DIVAS.
