Well, ENT has just announced that they are going to start charging - TopicsExpress

Well, ENT has just announced that they are going to start charging for free promos. Between $15-25, depending on genre. Changing to a flat fee for bargain books, too, instead of the percentage. Hi everyone, First of all, I would like to thank you for subscribing to our author newsletter. You are the first to know about some changes that we are making in regards to our pricing, how we will handle all bargain and free book submissions that are sent in to us and our new (less restrictive) requirements. This does not affect the Book of the Day in any way. Beginning today August 5, 2014, we will only be accepting bargain and free books that are submitted using our new platform which can be found here. This will be for free book promotions after August 12, 2014 and bargain book promotions after August 18, 2014. If you have a free or bargain promo on these dates or earlier you will still have your scheduled promo and do not need to do anything. If youve submitted a book for a promo that would occur after these dates, please resubmit your book at the link above. Sorry for any inconvenience. Weve tried to make the submission form as easy and quick as possible and will only be asking for the info that we will need to promote your book. In regards to pricing and payment we have also made changes. For the bargain book promos we will now be charging a flat fee instead of the 25% of profits on books sold through our links. The flat fees, we believe, are very reasonable and are based on averages of books sold through ENT over the past year and will still be very close to the prices that you were paying with the 25% model. Payments for bargain book promos will be due before your promotion. For the free books we will now be charging a fee for promos. Based on the number of downloads that authors receive from our free book promos and the prices that similar websites charge for promoting free books we feel that these fees are very reasonable as well - all genres are between $15 and $25. Payments for free book promos will also be due before your promotion. To view our pricing page, please go here. With our new submission page we will be able to do something that many of you have asked for - we will now be able to answer every submission for both free and bargain books whether your book will be promoted or not (sorry it took so long). More good news is that we have relaxed some of our requirements. For example, we no longer have a minimum number of reviews or a minimum rating that your book must have. This means that we will be posting some new releases, although this will be limited to established authors whose books have done well in the past. Also, while we will mainly post books with the best discount, we do not have a minimum amount that your book will have to be discounted. So, your books that are regularly priced at 99 cents may also get selected. Other things to keep in mind is that we will post perma-free books and the same author can have promotions any number of times - not limited to 1 every 30 days. We will also post more than just the first book in a series. These policies are actually the same as theyve always been at ENT (I just wanted to point them out). We still do limit the number of times that we will promote the same book - once every 90 days. Please review our new Requirements and Terms of Service. I also wanted to let you know that we will be working very hard to build our list of subscribers in the upcoming months to try and give you the best promotion/ROI for your money. While we may raise our prices in the future as our subscriber list grows we will not gouge you with our fees. We realize that you have put a lot of hard work into writing your books and you should reap the rewards of your hard work. Were just here to help you. Thank you for all that youve done over the past 4 years for ENT and we look forward to working with you and getting your books into the hands of thousands of readers in the upcoming days, months and years. Sincerely, Greg and the ENT team
