Well FaceBook asks... Whats on my mind? Many things concerning tonights game betweenst the Washington Lady Warriors and the Alva Lady GoldBugs. But I will not go into them all. I feel a strong desire to mention one observation of many that I do have, In my opinion a game of this status should never be decided by the folks Refereeing the game and in the case of this game it was a classic example of where it was! In that type of situation with the entire season and hard work of all those young ladies playing the game is on the line, an exciting game was just tied up by the team who had the lead most all of the game with roughly 5 seconds left on the clock after the opposing team had fought hard to take the lead. Everyone knows what the inbounding team will try to do. Drive as far down the court as they can and put up a shot.. If it goes in they win, if not OverTime! That foul should have never been called unless it was of the Flagrant Type wherein the shooter was thrown to the gound or somthing like that but never on a TickyTack. If the shot goes in They win Fair & Square if not its Overtime wherein the players who have everything riding on the outcome can decide who wins on either side not the Referee! That is why there is Overtime, so the players can decide who wins by that extra effort put in when it is Crunch Time! I truly believe both teams were cheated in this sad circumstance of a poor choice made by one man. these Referees should be schooled in that regard to never let their call decide the outcome of a game. Just Sayin... But just as I have told my daughter many times over the past 3 years playing summer league AAU Ball, you girls should never let the game be close enough at the end wherein poor calls can influence the outcome. We did have a 12 point lead at the start of the 3rd Qt, Ultimately it is on the girls who were playing and their coach.
