Well, Facebook friends, went to the Fox Theatre for a Sat. afternoon matinee of Once. Have to say, it was not my best theatre experience. I could only understand maybe half of the dialogue, and, could not understand many of the words in the songs! When some of the people around me were laughing, I am sitting there like a bump on log I should have arranged for a head set. so, nobody to blame but me. The play took place in Dublin, so heavy Irish accents, and, the female lead was a Czech. Guess that did not help my understanding. Lady next to me said she missed so much of what was being said, and, H. G. did not do much better! The voices were beautiful and the musical instruments , including, piano, were very well played! Perhaps, I am becoming hearing impaired ! 1
