Well Facebook, today is my 19th year in the Army. As I embark on my last year of service to the nation Id like to reflect on how many great people Ive met along the way. People like Alejandro E Reyna TJ Mehan Paco Bryant Adony A. Batista Alphabet De Los Reyes Cody Lambert and many others that will always be near and dear to me. Its been a long road and its coming to an end. Ive had my share of ups and downs. Four combat tours, countless feild exercises and through it all, Ive always tried to make the best of it, no matter what. CSM Butts from 1/505 told me in 1998 after I had lost rank for something foolish, that I could either let the bad shit define me or learn from it and become a better Trooper from it. Thanksfully I took his advice. While I have not done all I wanted to do when I first set out on this adventure 25 AUG 1995, Im pretty happy with my end result. Great leaders along the way such as CSM Butts, CSM Flowers 1sg Lacuna SFC Doyle 1sg Ha and many others helped teach me life lesson. My best bud Ti Pender also known as my twin, helped me to make light of even the crapiest of situations. Carol Urbizo Sewell showed me that even the meaest NCO will have your back when you need it most (dont cut me!) and last but not least, Mike StillAdam Miller showed me how not to lose touch with who you are and not to forget the ones that you left behind. Emilio Martinez for keeping me tech savvy and giving me a great laugh even when its trully not the right time is a memory Ill keep with me. unfortunatly, with serving in time of war, there are friends and commrads left on the battle field. Joe Vanek, Richard Ford, Chris Pusateri just to name a few along with Adam Costa, friends I wont ever forget. I may have forgotten to mention some people and Im sorry. There were so many people that came and went. David Deal for instance. Dont EVER get into a political debate with him...you will LOSE! Names pop in and out of my head daily. It was a good ride but I see my exit coming up. All the way, Airborne Lets go, H- minus, Fury from the sky, Rakkassans, Tropic Lightning!
