Well… Here we are. Tomorrow is our last day of lectures and classes in the Liberal Arts Program. Two years have passed just like that. We are now wiser and weirder than we were when we began. We entered as strangers and are leaving as friends. We’ve learned to appreciate History and how it has unfolded into the present day. We have become Romantics and/or Enlightened; were frustrated and encouraged; we’ve been privy to, and have enjoyed or despised the literary and artistic movements of the past and present. Our interests have developed and have been reinforced through our Profs, textbooks, and each other. This program taught us so much about the world, and likely even more about ourselves. We can now proudly go on to the next level with the confidence and optimism that the world expects of us, and give back to it. It’s time that we complete our transformation, fly the nest, and move onto bigger and better things. Some of us will become researchers, professors, busy-bee workers, students, lawyers, psychologists, social workers, historians, in a wide range of programs, careers, and specializations. I love the diversity that our group has, and couldn’t have asked for another group of people to share this time with and earn this future firewood…erm Diploma, with you. I wish everyone good luck on the exams and future endeavors, and I hope we keep in touch. We will continue the tradition of Seneca and U of T events for next year and the year after, so stay in this group (and join the LAUT group) if you want the latest information. Let’s finish this semester strong and let it be a springboard for a great summer! LAT hoodies unite tomorrow!
