Well I am going to take up Jills suggestion and be happy as we have some very sad days, so for a week I am going to tell a funny life story each today. The first one (by the way these are all true) is how I nearly met a terrible death in a terrible way. My pommie (affectinately) neighbour raced in one day - Help please our pony is caught in a stump! How many legs are trapped? All he is in the stump! Well I grabbed some ropes, twitch, tranquilizer etc., and flew around there Well there he was not in a stump at all but a sump Now a sump in case you dont know is a pit, usually round, at the rear of a dairy that collects all the shit from the cows. This one had not been used for years as it was no longer a dairy and it had been covered by a wooden lid. Well silly pony had gone through the lid and was in the shit right up until his eye balls literally. His muzzle was out so he could breathe. Lets not panic says I with no idea of how we can get him out. Suddenly I got a brainwave as the hayshed came into my view. I jumped on the tractor and collected six bales of hay. We kept packing it down into the sump and gradually the pony began to rise a little. Well it got to the stage where the hay needed to be pushed down to get it under his feet and yes there was no other way but to get into the sump. Taking the deepest gulp of air I could, in I went. As I was pushing the hay in place the little bastard sat on me and pinned me down. My goodness I was bloody going to die! thought I. Suddenly I gained super strength as I could see my epitaph - She died in a pit of shit. I manged to get free and yes it worked - the hay finally gave him a footing and we were able to pull him out. We both went under the hose and he had to be treated for shock. But you will never guess how this story ends - he survived the shit pit but three weeks later the little bastard jumped over the fence around the hay shed but impaled himself on a plough and died! .
