Well I am traveling to Columbia to meet my friend John Mark Hicks. Ive been thinking about David this morning. It is a new day. I confess I had a terrible nite sleep but I believe I cannot control what any other person says about me, does to me or my girls, or anything else. I do not claim perfection in any area of my life. David has always been my hero. I understand the swirling vortex of his life bc that is exactly my life! In many ways I think Im a better man than him ... better dad I know. It is Davids passion that I love though. He was passionate about God. He was passionate about his wives (!!) ... Ill let him surpass me there ... and he was passionate about his flawed family (and it was messed up!). One did not have to guess where Davids heart lie ... even in the middle of the blackest days of his life. Even when he was just plain guilty he still was on Gods side, his familys side and begged God to bless him. I see myself in David. I love David. Flawed as he was the Bible calls David ... the Man after Gods Own Heart.
