Well, I believe we finally have our insurance situation figured out. If just Lake and I hit our deductibles, like I anticipate, we will be spending a minimum of $19,700 on insurance and medical costs next year. If the rest of my family (not including Pierson or new baby) hit their deductibles that cost rises to over $30k - out of pocket. This is awful and scary. I write these numbers to show that it isnt right. Its not right for a middle class American family to be forced to spend this amount of money. We have been paying $13k/year to take care of our entire family of five, including all $1.5 million dollars worth of work that Lake has endured. It has been doable and worth it. Yes, we have a lot of family members, but without adding any more to our policy we will now pay (with the entire family covered) over double what we have been paying. This is ludicrous and wrong. Just imagine taking $1600+/month out of your pay check solely for healthcare coverage. This change, is no good.
