Well... I did ask my husband once, so I have wondered. Is or isnt the humble mushroom kosher! Apparently its is all to do with the seed vs spores... So does the bible differentiate between a seed & a spore! (you need to watch the video to find out!) I know what conclusion my husband & I came too, after all we have both, questioned mans ideal of Kosher.. meaning Rabbi Kosherism as I would call it. What is Biblical Kosherism? Well, it starts not listening to Judaic Rabbis as to what they clarify as kosher! It means going back to the Dietary Torah & reading it as is, without preconceived ideas, & cross referencing.. as an example: Man made Rabbi laws tells us not to mix meat & dairy, but does this in cross reference hold up to tradition?! Well, you have to find out yourself- *Deuteronomy 14:21 *Genesis 18:8 Of course it is not as simple as just reading these scriptures .. words are very important, as is context & the historic context For instant ... a kid is actually referring to young animal... My husband & I take the in context of the time, as the fertility ritual, to be on an ethical, as will as a to separation of pagan practices.. therefore not to eat unweaned animals ie: Veal. (we do not kill baby animals-unweaned.. to eat) So I love a cheese burger & have no issue eating one! I have had major issues with others of this... & judgement. So I feel it is important here to say there are many ways some view the dietary food laws within Judaism it self, & it is a matter of conciousness. Where one will not eat dairy & meat at all, to one who may feel free to eat as long as 30mins has elapsed or an hour, to the extreme of a completely separate kitchen for one & the other! So to clarify Jewish thinking on this subject, it is important to think upon.. *So don’t let anyone pass judgment on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Hodesh or Shabbat. These are a shadow of things that are coming, but the body is of the Messiah. Don’t let anyone deny you the prize by insisting that you engage in self-mortification or angel-worship. Such people are always going on about some vision they have had, and they vainly puff themselves up by their worldly outlook. They fail to hold to the Head, from whom the whole Body, receiving supply and being held together by its joints and ligaments, grows as God makes it grow. If, along with the Messiah, you died to the elemental spirits of the world, then why, as if you still belonged to the world, are you letting yourselves be bothered by its rules? — “Don’t touch this!” “Don’t eat that!” “Don’t handle the other!” Such prohibitions are concerned with things meant to perish by being used [not by being avoided!], and they are based on man-made rules and teachings. [a] They do indeed have the outward appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed religious observances, false humility and asceticism; but they have no value at all in restraining people from indulging their old nature. Kehillah in Colossae 2:16-23 (Colossians) ~ ( This is talking on Legalism, this is not advocating lawlessness. Meaning we can just do what we want to do outside of Torah, this is not what Paul is implying.. This is referring going over & above & judging each other in extra biblical observance.. ) I could be wrong & this is your call.. Is Paul miss interpreted?! *[a] Then Adonai said: “Because these people approach me with empty words, and the honour they bestow on me is mere lip-service; while in fact they have distanced their hearts from me, and their ‘fear of me’ is just a mitzvah (commandments) of human origin — Yeshayah 29:13 (Book of Isaiah) *Kosherism is a made-up word by me... ;)
