Well I did it guys. I can now say I have another feather in my cap. I raced Andys GTS Holden Commodore down the drag strip on Saturday at the Kevin McInroe Memorial Run. Reaction time .771 on the first run. Was so full of adrenalin I took off at first orange! However I was very surprised that I wasnt moving. Andy had told me its easy, go on the 3rd orange dadeda and so foot off the brake, foot flat to the floor.... whats that smoke, oh its me, Im doing a burnout!! Oh the guys had said burnouts are for pre staging area. Whoops. So hence the first run was a very slow one AND I got a red light. After breaking out three times, but not wanting to back off, on my third breakout (after only just synchronizing myself to get my reaction time down to 0.169) I lost by 6/1000th of a second and did 16.194 seconds. My dial in was 16.2. Blah. Ady, Andy, Darren and I had so much fun. Poor Darren went sideways a couple of times but did 13s in his Ford Capri. We all had a blast. Thanks guys for taking me out of my comfort zone. I put my hand up for next years run. I LOVED IT!!
