Well I dont know if I have posted much about the bus I am working - TopicsExpress

Well I dont know if I have posted much about the bus I am working on to make it an rv etc.. it is a 40 ft Gillig Phantom with a 692 v/with the turbo on it. I wanted to put a wood stove in it for warmth and maybe some cooking or water heating but the small older wood stove that I got was a total mess. there were missing parts, it is too old to get replaced, someone broke the pins trying to force the rusted doors, when the pins were finally being tapped out 2 of the front tabs the doors hang on broke.... it was a night mare, but I really wanted a good stove with a small footprint. Well these are some pics of the progress. it is back together it was just a pile of rusted garbage when I got it, but my friend di AMAZING work on it getting it back together and finding someone to weld the cast iron. Now all we need to do is get the fiber glass rope and do that and then test fire it. I liked it due to its small foot print, I have 2 nice wood stoves but they are both way too large and this one with the front lower lip and the rear heat shield fits in a 2x2x2 foot square. I think when it is done it will work well in my bus and it is encouraging to finally get something working since we have had so many issues.. that stopped us prior to this, etc.. Also the bus is a bit larger and lower then I would normally buy as a bug out sort of thing I have 3 older rvs and another bus that I have in storage that I can use if I needed to for moving around this is more of a park model or one to make as am alternate location, not to travel with in a SHTF type of situation etc.. well here are the pics of our progress so far, may not seem like much but it is really nice to get over this hurdle and not be out a lot of money for some tiny yacht stove or the like etc.. There is still so much to do but the project is coming along. I would give my friends name so he can have the credos for helping me but he mentioned that he would rather not ever work on one of these again... lol
