Well, I figure it is time for me to announce that I will be retiring Sept. 1st. Really hate to leave my family at City Hall, and yes they are my family. Lamar and I appreciate and love each and everyone for being there for us during our difficult times. I really do not know what I would have done without them The City employees and City Council stood by us, Could no way we would have made it without each of them. A few went that extra mile to help us and I will always be so grateful and love them with all my heart. I could never repay them for what they have done for Lamar and me. I am truly going to miss them too. You know, I feel that God always put you where he wants you to be. However; I am sure you all know what I will be doing. You got it !!! Will be up at the Main Street Grill with Duane. People have asked me how I can do what I do working at the Grill then going to City Hall. I love both., but I will tell you this. As you all know I love to cook, and Lamar wanted me to go into the restaurant business a long time ago. I would not do it. Now that Duane has and I feel the calling to retire and help him., Yes, I do know God has opened another door for me, and I feel life is too short not to step out on FAITH and do what I love to do. My four (4) children, meaning, Duane, Karen, Wayde and Will means everything to me. I will say, that what keeps me going is my family and my Church family (Ebenezer Baptist) and it is such a joy for me to get the opportunity to spend the wee hours every morning with my Son. Life is too short to not do what you enjoy, and I do enjoy serving others just as Duane and Karen do. I will always be thankful for Shane Fripp for encouraging Duane to step out on Faith and open this restaurant. We may not be the best and please everyone, but we do love what we are doing for our small town and to serve the public. We are striving to do what others need or want in good food, and we will continue to strive to improve our services to everyone. I will miss my customers at City Hall, and I will have to say, I will not miss the stress. I am really looking forward to doing what I enjoy doing, and keep me in your prayers. Afterall, I am really torn between cooking and FOOTBALL RIGHT NOW. You all that know me, knows exactly how I feel. LOL I would like to thank you all personally for the time I have gotten to know you through my position at City Hall. There have been good days and bad days but I must admit, the Good always out weights the bad in any situation. Thank you all and remember, if I can ever be of help to you, please feel free to call me. May God continue to bless each of you in a mighty way !!! God Bless !!!
