Well, I finally found out the reason why my insurance would not - TopicsExpress

Well, I finally found out the reason why my insurance would not approve gum surgery, and the fact is the criteria that had to be met was: intact indentition,no active periodontal disease, no presence of infrabony defects including deep osseous craters, three wall osseous defects, circumferential defects or bony defects situated in the mandibular external oblique ridge, minimum 50% bone support post surgery, minimal tooth mobility, no significant loss of periodontal attachment, scaling and root planning must precede the surgery by at least six weeks and no other periodontal procedures are required. The reason why they denied it is due to presence of periodontal disease, presence of infrabony pockets and significant loss of periodontal attachment and not the rubbish about that Medicaid would not approve it. That was absolute rubbish. I am not giving up the fight, because I feel that this is right for me and if my doctor feels that it is right, I will still fight for it. People, I am 55 years of age and I consider myself to be a very mature person, so I do not need to be told the stupid lies that Medicaid would not approve my surgery. That is total, utter rubbish! I will continue to fight until it gets approved, because if my doctor feels that it needs to be done. It needs to be done. Enough said
