Well I guess its true that there is never a dull day in my world. Im sitting in a Fort Lauderdale hospital bed with a blood clot in my upper right arm. So much for my 9 days in the Bahamas. After suffering for a couple days with sudden painful swelling in the whole arm, which occasionally turned blue, we made the decision that Id better get to a U.S. hospital in the event it was something bad like this. I took a three hour ferry ride to Florida and was the only American in the American line. Wish I would have gotten the name of the customs gentleman cuz he was awesome and sent me to the closest hospital. The intake nurse recognized the problem right away and in a busy Florida ER they were seeing and testing me within 15 minutes. ER staff was amazing. After being admitted the night nurse was the sweetest even during my mini 4 am terry meltdown. Her name is Aura and it was appropriate. Its a good thing Ive lived in general with no fear of the unknown because last night was one of the most insane adventures Ive ever been on. Jodi Knudson Leidholm has helped Kim Kendall n me greatly on this excursion. We booked through her and today she has helped so much. Never in my life have I bought trip insurance but Jodi encouraged it on this one and trust me it will make all the difference. Mary Dubrowski Im sitting 90 minutes away from you!! So Im being held who knows how long and then I have to learn if I can fly. If not I guess Im up for a road trip. This shall not dampen my spirits cu at least Im sitting in this bed with sand still in parts sand doesnt belong!
