Well, I had intended to get a lot more done on the house today than I actually did, but my neighbor (James) stopped by again this morning with new blades for the weed whacker he lent us. Interesting guy with an interesting background. He put a weight on the weed whacker to make it perfectly balanced and hence easier to use. So we chatted for a while and Nick and I went to visit him again at his house this evening rather than getting all I had planned done. He has Mesothelioma with about a year to live (non-curable cancer from working in the ship yards for a long time). I decided that it would really be better if I spent time with him as the projects here could wait. He built his own house here (see pictures) on his 30 acres up here. He and his wife have lived up on this mountain for some 20 years now. He has all kinds of great tips and home improvement tips. Lesson for me today, always more important to spend time with people as other things and projects can wait. Took an original Czerniec painting (the blue bells flower pictures) to he and his wife this evening as a gift for helping us the past two days. I like learning new things each and every day and life is short. James really has a great attitude and very positive one even though his has about a year to live. Makes my Parkinson’s seem like nothing. Nick was taken aback by his positive attitude as well. Look for the positives in life and you will and can find them in life, and hence you will be happier!
