Well, I had lined up a very special boy for my birthday... And who says wishes dont come true? Dalton is a six-year old male who had been at the refuge for five years. A male who, guess what, hated other males, females and cats, needed a home on his own without other animals. The most difficult combination to home. Dalton was also big and hairy and male, making him even more difficult. However, no challenge too big. A couple of weeks after I put the calendar together, Dalton was adopted. I had hoped for months that he would be, following his advert in Deux Sevres Monthly earlier in the year, his new family got in touch with me to say they were very interested but wouldnt be moving over until December. Could they keep in touch and let me know? Of course, I said. Well, over the months, I sent videos and photos. They kept me updated about their move. Finally, after months of waiting, Verity Lineham and I took Dalton to meet his new family. Lets hope that Dalton is settled in and making his new family as happy as he did those first couple of days! What a fabulous birthday wish come true for me!
