Well, I had my DUI hearing this morning, and I am at home tonight. So much for the good news. Nevada and Clark County are clamping down on DUIs. When my lawyer tried to negotiate the charges, he refused. But he was willing to negotiate the time and fine. So DUI (my first) in on my record for 7 years, I have a $685 fine, 4 classes and a victim Impact panel to attend, and a 6 month suspended sentence. My lawyer was willing to go to trial, and the judge was ready, but if I lost Id be in jail tonight, so I opted for the negotiation. I will not be driving anytime soon. License is suspended for 3 months, but I sold my car, so that wont matter. If you live in, or visit, Las Vegas and you plan on drinking, get a designated driver, PLEASE!
