Well, I have already learned a significant life-lesson from living - TopicsExpress

Well, I have already learned a significant life-lesson from living in Missouri Valley, Iowa, and that is a cool thing. Before sharing that, I want to note the irony of the places the Lord has led me. I have moved from one river valley to another...from the Wabash River Valley to the much more expansive Missouri River Valley. And there is this little tidbit as well. I have moved off of the George Rogers Clark Trail in Terre Haute to the Trail much more widely known made famous by his slightly more well-known brother, William, on the Lewis and Clark Trail here in Missouri Valley. A unique geological feature here in the Missouri Valley are the Loess Hills. These are hills (which are substantial, BTW) that were formed by wind-deposited sediment from the west rather than by glacial movement. From what I understand, there is only one other place on the planet where this geology is present, and that is somewhere in China. In any case, these hills are rather steep, and in driving around on them, I noticed something else unique...the number of three-way stops at intersections. It took me a while to figure out the significance of that, but I think I have it now. Wherever you drive in this little town, the road with the steeper incline always has the right of way! Now. I suppose this is more important in the winter when the roads are slick, but what a lesson this is for life in general! We should always yield to the ones making the steeper climb in life and not impede progress! Now, on the same road, there are both inclines and declines, of course, but when someone is on the incline, get out of their way, and if they are stuck, get out and help them! And, if you are the person on the difficult climb, take note of this. Romans 5:1-5- Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
