Well I have had my final (well I hope its my final) surgery and all I can say is treatment from those you have confidence in means allot. The surgery took about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs with a debreivement of the sinus, and just as expected my upper maxillary sinus was packed with old food particle bacteria from the last 11 months (which University of Miami Sylvester would not take care of when i told them my headaches were getting worse). This was causing all my infections and headaches with the sinus getting pack up. The surgen opened up the hole in my upper palate to approx 2 1/2 x1 1/2 cm hole back to good clean live tissue. Tuesday I was fitted with an Obturator to close the now bigger hole. I received it and it will take me time to adjust to this retainer like device. The Doctor was right on the money with a diagnosis on the headache issue and the sinus smell that has progressively gotten worse after I came home from Ca. As for my headaches I had nothing all week so far other than surgery pain in my mouth. Thank GOD and prayer for leading me in the right direction to not act hastily to just get it done..... I had it done by the doctor who originally diagnosed my Lymphoma last year and i am forever grateful, he saved my life and I have confidence in him and his team........and will be traveling to Omaha in the future for followup additional treatments if needed. This week I find peace in my life and heart.
