Well, I have no problem at all waking up in the middle of the night and again early in the morning when it means feeding a baby - a baby flying squirrel. Melissa, after looking up more pictures and information, Im fairly darn certain weve got a Northern Flying baby squirrel on our hands. Northern flying squirrels are a small native squirrel found throughout forested parts of the state. They have dense, silky cinnamon to gray-brown fur above and a cream-colored belly. They have wide, flat tails, large dark eyes, and relatively long ears. A fur-covered fold of skin stretches from the wrist to the ankle and is spread outward when gliding. Flying squirrels are rarely seen because they are nocturnal and sleep in tree cavities or stick nests during the day. He looks just like the pictures on a google search. I had no idea we had these critters in our forest! https://google/search?q=northern+flying+squirrel+baby&newwindow=1&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=VAb9U_LyJKrwiwKB1oCwBg&ved=0CB8QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=909
