Well, I have officially experienced one of the most horrific, disgusting things ever. Last night, I awoke with intense ear pain and a loud, scratching, tickling sensation on the left side of my head. I couldnt hear. I panicked, waking Robert up. He looked into my ear with a flash light and to our disbelief, there was a fairly large spider (all things considered) lodged inside, wiggling beside my ear drum. I shook my head. nothing. I flushed it with warm water. Nothing. I suffocated it with olive oil and hydrogen peroxide, per instructions online. It was dead, but still stuck and causing both pain and hearing loss. Robert broke out the medical kit and attempted to carefully remove it with tiny, needle nosed forceps. That hurt too much. Finally, after my suffering at home had gone on for nearly two hours with all attempted to remove the insect having failed, he and Christian took me to the Emergency room where Doctors gently extracted it. The relief was almost immediate but I am still recovering from the emotional trauma of it all. I have read about things like this happening to unfortunate people but I never ever, in my wildest nightmares, ever thought it could or would happen to me.
