Well, I havent been able to say it yet today. When someone would say it to me today, I would say, You too. Today has been exceptionally hard for my family. I wasnt even sure I was going to make it to supper. It took all I had to get out of bed and get a shower. However, throughout my shower and getting dressed, it was all I could do to NOT break down. I finally made it to my parents house. While we were thanking God for supper and bounty to nourish our bodies, the end of the prayer included those who were not able to be with us to complete the circle in our family, hearing my mothers voice break, hearing the sounds of sniffing, due to missing someone that was so important to us, we all broke down a bit and cried together as a family. We miss her so much, especially today, as this was her favorite holiday. I know some of my friends have already told me I should be over this. But, when someone means that much to you, it does take a long time to get over something like this. You see, many people only saw that she was my grandmother, but to me, she was my teacher, diary, advice columnist, doctor, and so much more, including a mother. I was so very close to her, and now, she is my angel. As the day went on, there was laughter, and fond memories, along with tears of remembrance. Only this time, it was of funny things she would say or do. Eventually, the night came, the laughter and tears geared down. I had a chance to really talk to my mother for a while. It was a precious conversation to me, as we talked about things that could never be changed. Although the empty feeling is still there, the feeling of being in the presence of the people she held dear, (my grandfather, uncle, mom, and the grand children), was so warm and overwhelming. The love is still there. So, with all my might, and before this day has ended, (11:57 PM), I would like to say, Happy Thanksgiving to all of my FB friends and family.
