Well...I just completed the 30th year of participating in the PHOENIX 10K (altho I only do the 5k---3 miles now). Never did I think when I did this the first year---when I was only 30 yrs old---that I would STILL be doing it at my current age 60!!! Ive walked/ran it in the rain, freezing cold temps, scorching hot sun---with headaches, hangovers, twisted ankles, stomach cramps, burns, food poisoning and more. Sometimes you just gotta get out there and just do it no matter what! I dont whine about the little things in life!
