Well...I just got a very ugly series of phone calls from a man with an Indian accent telling me that a legal action was going to be filed against me. When I asked for details, Ted told me that he was from the US Treasury Department. I told him that they didnt call people in that fashion and hung up. He immediately called me back and became quite abusive to me, threatening to put me behind bars! I called the police and filed reports with the US Treasury and the Federal Trade Commission (I googled this scam, and it has been going on for a while now), but apparently there is nothing they can do because the people are using burner phones -- disposable cells. Horrible experience! But I dont give out personal info to random callers in any case.
