Well I know we all have our own thoughts and feelings about Police Week and the National Law Enforcement Memorial/Fund yet the problem I am having today and tomorrow is that the young 25 year old Metro Nashville Officer that was killed is from a suburb of Memphis and his visitation is tonight along with a sea of blue and the Line of Duty Funeral is here tomorrow. I have talked to a couple of officers that I trust and respect and I just can bring my self to attend either, This brings back way to many memories of my July 3, 2011 incident and the aftermath. I just cant do it. My question is why does this bother me so much I was the honor guard commander for years and lived to pay honor and respect to these active and retired officers no matter how they died. It was the way they lived and the duties that they carried out day after day. I cant deal with this LODD even though I have no personal relationship with this officer. I feel the need to be there but at the same time I just cant the nightmares and the tears this week have been uncontrollable whats wrong with me?
