Well, I locked the door on the Beecher Terrace apt. for the last - TopicsExpress

Well, I locked the door on the Beecher Terrace apt. for the last time today. Giving the keys back tomorrow. No sadness, no sense of loss, nothing. I grew a lot personally there, but it was not really a place for living---its a place for existing. There were no good relationships built among my neighbors, no friends, although, my next door neighbor, that Id had the trouble with years ago, we had grown to like each other and know the neither of us belonged there. I encouraged her that she, too, could get a home, for her and her granddaughter, and I believe she will soon. Its a process to start your life over. At times, I didnt know I would, and thought Id be stuck there. I am so grateful for my new home. It feels so good to be in a neighborhood, and not the hood. To have a drive way and not an alley. To live a mile and half a way from the freeway, instead of a block and a half. My lungs will know the difference. Im giving my old car to my son tomorrow, another stepping stone moving on. Im tired and sore from moving and things are a mess over here. My roommate Kim is the sweetest and loveliest woman. I hope to get the upstairs finished and get another roommate up there. Its a process. One thing at a time.
