Well I made it to Hanoi. The streets are freaking crazy!!! I guess it is a full moon festival today which brings everyone out to the streets of the old quarter. The streets are packed from one side to the other with people, but they are still active roads so there are also motorbikes and cars trying to get down them. Cars can only inch down the road, practically having to bump people out of the way. It takes about 20 minutes to walk one block. I would have enjoyed it much more if I was not tired, hungry, and thirsty! I am also staying on the opposite side of the old quarter from where I was last time so I was completely lost in a sea of people. I guess the festival is mainly for children also so there are balloons and toy sellers lining the streets. What unimaginable craziness!! The place that I am staying is very nice so it is a great oasis from the chaos!
