Well I may have been nominated for worst mom of the year award - TopicsExpress

Well I may have been nominated for worst mom of the year award today. Earlier today I turned a cartoon on for Berkley (whos 2 now) in the living room because it was almost nap time and thought shed rest on couch while I did a few things around the house. Then I went in my bedroom to use our bathroom and Kendall followed me in there and asked me to turn something else on for her in my room because she wanted to watch a different show. She asked me to lay by her for a few minutes so I did; and I was actually almost dozing off myself and all the sudden I thought thats weird I havent heard Berkley out in the living room for awhile but thought maybe she fell asleep so I got up to check on her and shes not on the couch or playing in the living room.... I take a few seconds to look around house in normal spots like her bedroom and the other bathrooms (she likes to play in the toilet water the little stinker) and Im really starting to get worried and I look towards the front door because I cant find the puppy either and notice its cracked open a little- thats when I really panic and my heart just sinks in my stomach because I just know she went outside. Our backyard looks over a man-made pond and the street in front of our house is a paved road thats not super busy but still a road non the less... so I start worrying the worst and call my sister-in-law Miranda as fast as I can to come over and help look because Im running all over the yard and down the street calling her name with Kendall who is 4 dragging behind me and Im scaring her now too and then I round the corner to the back yard and run right towards the pond just praying she didnt go to the water and I glance off to the side towards the neighbors yards and there she is two houses down just happy as can be climbing the stairs on their Swingset to go down the slide. Who knows if she snuck out 5 seconds after I left the living room while I went to the bathroom or if it was even a few minutes later while I was helping Kendall find her show but it just got me thinking so much today about how lucky I am and thank God she was fine!!! My doors will never be unlocked again... No one can watch their kids every second but I felt so guilty. God is good 😀 and thank you Miranda Walker for rushing over lol! Even though I found her before you even got here... Those 2 1/2 minutes I didnt know where she was felt like forever!
