Well....I messaged somebody at ancestry about my 10th Great Grandfather ancestor Arthur Jones born in 1630. He looked liked he knew some stuff. I asked him I read the thread about descendants of Arthur Jones who was born in 1630 in England. He was my 11th Great Grandfather. His son was Arthur Jones Jr. who was born around 1661, and he was my 10th Great Grandfather. Arthur Jones Jr. had a daughter with my 10th Great Grandmother Prudence Baldwin named Mary who was my 9th Great Grandmother. Mary married my 9th Great Grandfather Charles Gilliam who was son of Hinchea Gilliam and Fortune Flood who were my 10th Great Grandparents. What do you know about Arthur Jones parentage and ancestral family lines? He responded Arthur Jones (1624-1692) married Margaret Barrett in London in 1655. He was not the father of Arthur of Va however. Arthur Jones who died in Bermuda in 1692 left a will which mentions the 4 children of his deceased brother Edward Jones living in Isle of Wight, Va, Arthur, Edward, Sarah, and Richard Jones. Arthur and his brother Edward were the sons of Arthur Jones (Sept 15, 1591-Jun 4, 1636) and his wife Mary Smith. His father Arthur was born in 1572 and married Eleanor Pitman 7/4/1591 in Gloucestershire. His father was Robert Jones (1552-1604) son of Edmond Jones (1532-1575) son of John Jones (1512-1584) . I believe his father was a William Jones who may have come to Gloucestershire from neighboring Wales. Most of this information comes from the Hanham and Oldham parish records in Gloucester.
