Well I thought it was about time for a little update. I have been working a bit lately, but not really hard, and no problems so far. My fatigue is still there, but I have learned to manage it better. I know when to slow down or stop for a while. The taste buds are still doing their own thing, and now I have a couple of bites, then flavor vanishes, so my dinners consist of lots of pieces of food. All different. Any hint of spices and I head for the milk, they are very noticeable. I dont know if I mentioned my tingling finger tips. I thought it was a pinched nerve in my neck, but it is a bit of nerve damage from the radiation, also temporary. Thats good because it is really frustrating at times trying to pick things up with little feeling. My weight is stable at 68 Kilos, and everyone seem happy with that now. Bad luck if theyre not, it isnt changing no matter how much I eat. The throat is still a bit raw at times but bearable. My chewing is an ongoing problem, but should be sorted soon. The other news is I go to Brisbane next week for my PET scan. That will be 3 months since I finished my treatment, and this scan will give the final result. The very basic laymans way I was told is that this scan will show the blood flow needed for a cancer to live and thrive. If there is no blood flow, there is no cancer, but if there is a cancer, this will be shown as a blood flow. Next Wednesday, I should have the results one way or the other. I am feeling very confident, but if you had been with the brilliant staff at the PA Hospital, you couldnt feel otherwise. There has always been that little bit of wonder and doubt at the back of the mind, and it will be great to finally know. Till then, there is not much to do, so I will grab a beer (the ONLY flavor that stays constant :D ) and go watch the Grand Final. Have a marvellous weekend everyone, and I will catch you all later.
