Well, I thought since it is raining again, as usual lately, I - TopicsExpress

Well, I thought since it is raining again, as usual lately, I would make some loaves of homemade bread. That idea came to a screeching halt! I opened up the first 10 pounds of flour and it was crawling with bugs. Rather grossed out, I opened the spare 10 pound bag in another area of the kitchen and it was crawling with bugs. While at it, I opened up the 3 bags of cornmeal and the same bugs. There are now 6 bags of flour/cornmeal ready for the trash barrel. Personally, I think the bugs came from a store, in our local area, in a small bag of cornmeal; and from it, the bugs kept on travelling to the other bags. From now on, all bags will be opened before they are put on the shelves in my kitchen. All flour and cornmeal is going to be put into airtight containers, from now on. It was probably an old bag of cornmeal the local store was selling, because my flour from Krogers isnt due to expire until 2015. It was difficult to check for expiration on the suspected flour, as it had been either rubbed off or obliterated because it was not readable. Just feeling disgusted right now. Check your flour or anything made from wheat. : (
